  • The Mill at SLCC 9690 South 300 West #333 Sandy, UT, 84070 United States (map)

Join us on June 18 for our "Taco Bout Real Estate" event, where Clay Winder and Cody Thorup will share how they established The Wakara Fund, affectionately known as "your rich uncle's fund."

Dive into how they're using the BRRRing strategy—buy, Renovate, Rent, Refinance—to manage and renovate rental properties in Georgia. This is a chance to get real insights into the nuts and bolts of creating a real estate investment fund, covering everything from financial planning to investor relations.

Clay Winder

From a young age, Clay Winder's passion for real estate was evident, and over the years, he has transformed that passion into a thriving career. With an unwavering commitment to helping individuals achieve success in buying and selling real estate, Clay has facilitated hundreds of families in building wealth through homeownership.

As a homegrown Realtor with a deep-rooted connection to the Wasatch front, Clay has gained a reputation among his peers as one of the most knowledgeable neighborhood experts. He embarked on his real estate journey in 2006, obtaining his license, and subsequently pursued a bachelor's degree in Public Law from UVU in 2010. His dedication to continuous improvement led him to become a licensed real estate broker in 2011 and a real estate continuing education teacher for the state of Utah in 2012. In 2020, he proudly graduated with a Master's Degree in Real Estate Development from the esteemed University of Utah.

Currently, Clay spearheads one of Utah's most successful residential real estate sale teams, the Red Sign Team. Additionally, he holds the position of franchise owner for Keller Williams Westfield Real Estate and Keller Williams Argentina Region, showcasing his dynamic leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. Moreover, Clay is a co-owner of the thriving real estate investment company, Red Sign Investments.

Beyond his achievements in brokerage and investments, Clay has strategically acquired and manages real estate rental properties across multiple states, displaying his keen eye for profitable ventures. Furthermore, he indulges his adventurous spirit as a co-owner of a fishing Lodge, Fundo Los Leones, nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Patagonia Chile.

Despite his remarkable achievements, Clay remains grounded in the beauty of Utah Valley, where he currently resides. His dedication to the real estate industry and his community is rivaled only by his passion for exploring the depths of the ocean as a scuba diving enthusiast.

Cody Thorup

Meet Cody, his passion for real estate really started from his time helping manage and run a family construction company. He spent 10 years in construction from residential projects to small commercial and everything in between. During this time he got his real estate license as his passion for buying and flipping homes started. He has had his hand in countless flips here in Utah and outside the state. He has a love for taking homes and bringing them back to life! With his background and knowledge of construction he loves being able to help buyers understand things to look for in a new home and for sellers he knows what projects to tackle to bring in the most money!

Cody enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with his two boys, Cooper and Lincoln. Some of his hobbies are working on and enjoying old cars, watching jazz games and spending time with family and friends! We are so lucky to have Cody on the Red Sign Team as one of our agents.
